I wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know that the 2010 Great River Race has had to change dates. Despite what was originally announced, it will now be held on the 25th of September.
The change was forced upon the organisers by the spring tides expected on original date which will threaten to flood the all important bar area at the finish line! This new date will avoid the springs and reduce the tidal flow, hopefully making our job a bit easier in the process.
As ever we’ll need a huge number of safety boats to make this event happen and I hope I can once again count on your support for this year’s event.
I will be in touch with more information in the next week or so but I wanted to alert you all to the date change so you can pencil the new date in your diaries. Hopefully this change won’t result in too many diary clashes but please do spread the word far and wide, so we can ensure a full complement of safety boats for this year’s race
